Fantastic place to stay. Great rates and a clean room! I booked on Expedia and it cost us less than $60/night, about the same as a Motel 6 but with a completely different experience. The staff is all really nice (def a huge plus.) Not far at all from downtown, maybe a 15 minute drive. Even though a lot of people say that the major downfall is the noise of the train, my husband and I did not notice it much, and when we did, it was not sleep shatteringly loud or anything (and our room was one of the closest to the street.) We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

The Nordic Hotel is a hidden gem! We stayed on May 25, 2015, we were flying out of PDX the next morning. The owners are all about making your stay as comfortable as possible, and they definitely go the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Next time I’m in Portland I will stay again!

We stayed there for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful and I even met the owner on the Sunday afternoon. We had a nice conversation and he even offered to make me a pot of coffee to accommodate my coffee habit. It would be nice if there were coffee machines in the room.Even tho there were plane and trains coming and going, you could hardly hear them, they were no bother at all.The shower was very small, but the owner did mention that the room I was in, were due for renovation.I would recommend this little jewel of a Motel anytime and would definitely stay there again.

For the price, there is nothing better in Portland. The rooms are clean, comfortable, well appointed, and feature the nicest carpet I’ve ever seen in a motel. (Really, who raves about motel carpet?) The furnishings & fixtures are all recent, the grounds are immaculate, and the staff is friendly. It is immediately obvious that the owners really pay attention to every little detail. Highly recommended.

This was a wonderful place for us to stay and very economical. We were stranded in Portland for 5 days while our truck was being repaired. The management here was so kind and understanding and helpful. The rooms were plenty big enough and sparkling clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Hard to believe….But it’s true! This place is so very very nice. One of the cleanest, well kept motels I have ever stayed in. Absolutely the most comfortable bed and memory foam pillows. The 2 bedroom queen suite at a bargain has a full fridge, stove, toaster, microwave and kitchen sink,. A few minutes away from the airport. I will be staying here again and again when I come to visit family or pick up a friend at the airport. There is no coffee maker in the room but there is an espresso cart directly across the street or the complimentary coffee in the office gives you the opportunity to see how warm and welcoming your hosts are.

I had a very cozy stay here following a long day of cross-country travel. I got in after midnight and was very pleased with how comfortable, clean, quiet, and cozy the room was. I was a woman traveling alone and felt very safe, even arriving late at night. The lady at the front desk was very nice. They do require a $20 deposit, so make sure you have that and that you check-out at the office to get your money back (rather than just leaving the key on the room and leaving). Also, no pets allowed at all, so that may be a consideration for some people traveling with their pets. I found this place on hotels.com and definitely would stay here again!

My fiancé and I have stayed here three times, and each time has been wonderful! This motel is very affordable, but you still get what you need and more. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are always clean, and everything is up to date. This is the place to stay if you’re looking to travel on a budget but still want quality. I would definitely recommend the Nordic Motel, and I look forward to my next stay.

We (2 adults, a 6yo and a 9yo) spent 5 nights here visiting friends in Portland and Hillsboro, and we were very satisfied. A place with separate bedrooms — divided by a door no less — for under $100 a night is a real find. Include the full functioning kitchen and free parking and we were sold.

We caught on through other reviews that the kitchen doesn’t include pots, pans, dishes, etc. we arranged with a friend to borrow the basics, and it was fantastic having a full size fridge, oven, stove, and microwave. We saved a fortune on eating out.

Also, the beds and pillows were very comfortable and definitely a cut above what you think of when you imagine motel beds.

We never heard a peep from neighbors, and everything was very clean. Our room was nonsmoking and smelled fresh. There was a security camera directly outside the room and there always seemed to be someone in the office and we felt very safe.

A little coffee stand is directly across the street and once I went for espresso, but usually got the free coffee in the office.

There is a really well reviewed breakfast place, The German Bakery, just down the street but they were closed Sunday and Monday. We definitely intend to go there next time.

The owners were very nice and extremely accommodating. They are always there to help when you need them.

The place is very clean and tidy. We were very pleased that the room has a nice set up. We went with the two bedroom because it was only a few dollars more. The beds are separated by a room so there is more privacy. The people were also very friendly and kind. The parking is also very nice because it is directly in front of all the rooms. I definitely know where I’m staying next time I’m in the PDX. The beds are also very comfortable and the two bedroom comes with a kitchen. There is a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and dining table.
