Affordable, clean accommodations. The staff bent over backwards to allow us to check in early when we arrived. Very friendly. Would return here for our next trip to Portland.
We drove in from Idaho for a weekend in Portland and the Nordic Motel was a great location and price. It’s a quaint place, clean, and affordable. We will definitely be booking our next Portland weekend getaway at the Nordic Motel! Thank you to the friendly and informative staff!!
Stayed here for one night and wished it was longer! Loved that it was family and the owners were super nice! Got in after 11 and was in my room within 10 minutes. Room was awesome! Super comfy bed and pillows, lots of space and full fridge and stove! Really close to the transit center and got into downtown in 15 minutes on the red line. Will stay here again in the future!!!
Hands down the best motel I have ever stayed in. The location was no more than fifteen minutes away from shops, places to eat, bars – you name it. The owners were super nice and accommodating. The beds and size of the two rooms in general were impressive. As some of the other reviews say, it really did feel like a home away from home! My sister and I were sad to leave. Definitely plan to stay here again the next time I’m in Portland.
My husband and I went on a road trip from Phoenix, AZ up through California, Oregon, and Washington over the last two weeks. My formula for finding a hotel in the city/town we were looking at stopping in was first price point, then good reviews. We stayed at many hotels, some great, some rather questionable. This was one of our highlights. It’s a small, husband and wife owned motel not too far from downtown Portland. Yes, it is by the airport and a semi-busy train. Did the noise bother us? Surprisingly, it didn’t! It was actually pretty quiet given the location. This hotel is friendly, clean, and has everything you need. The rooms are spacious and even have a dining area. At this price point, it cannot be beat! I mean really, you’re looking at hostels in the same category closer to the city…we’re young…but sharing a bathroom at a hostel is not for us! We fell in love with Portland the two days we were there (tight schedule!). For touristy things, I recommend the Japanese Garden and Rose garden directly across from it in Washington Park. We were lucky enough to attend during the Rose Festival and saw some truly beautiful plants! Parking stinks in the city, we used Uber the entire time. Also, check out the vegan mini-mall and the Bye and Bye (bar) while you’re there! When we come to Portland again, we will be staying here no matter what!
This place was quite the surprise. We only needed one night and figured we could handle anything for that long. This place is clean, organized, very nice. Good coffee in the morning and a bottle opener screwed right into the wall! All the paint looked fresh and the bathroom was very clean. Highly recommend.
Loved our stay at the Nordic! We were there in April 2016. Very clean and staff was very friendly. Loved the comfortable beds! Would stay there again if ever in Portland!
It’s true what the other reviewers have said. Very clean and inexpensive compared to other Portland hotels. The proprietor was very nice and respectful to us and his employees. I will stay here any time I am in Portland.
Fantastic place to stay. Great rates and a clean room! I booked on Expedia and it cost us less than $60/night, about the same as a Motel 6 but with a completely different experience. The staff is all really nice (def a huge plus.) Not far at all from downtown, maybe a 15 minute drive. Even though a lot of people say that the major downfall is the noise of the train, my husband and I did not notice it much, and when we did, it was not sleep shatteringly loud or anything (and our room was one of the closest to the street.) We will definitely be staying here again in the future!
